International oceanographic marine instrument and systems provider, OSIL (Ocean Scientific International Limited), are seeing abundant sales of Slick Sleuths Oil Spill Detection and Alarm Systems in power stations, oil refineries and discharge points.
Slick Sleuth™ Oil Spill Detection & Alarm Systems are used for immediate detection, early warning alert, containment and prevention of accidental spills - averting environmental damage, costly cleanup, and possible fines or regulatory penalties. The optical sensor detects small amounts of oil and can be configured to automatically shut off pumps or valves, activate alarms and personnel notification.
OSIL Director, Richard Williams explains, "The Slick Sleuth has been calibrated to provide precise data that will allow levels to be monitored accurately. This kind of equipment is vital in ensuring that any change can be neutralised before it becomes an issue".
Slick Sleuth's non-contact design is ideal for remote deployment in rugged settings such as offshore, harbours, inland waterways, industrial spillways, sumps and separators. Slick Sleuth is highly sensitive to the detection of crude, turbine, lube, hydraulic, fuel and most other hydrocarbon derivatives. Slick Sleuth is mounted above the water facilitating ease of installation and eliminating O & M expense. The system is also perfectly suited for spill monitoring over ground, concrete, or wet/dry drainages, wherever spill detection is warranted.
