OSIL (Ocean Scientific International Limited), a Havant based oceanographic marine instrument and systems provider, are continuing to offer their clients time and money saving solutions with the latest MiniBAT, a lightweight remote controlled tow body.
The OSIL MiniBAT is a lightweight tow body that has the capability to carry a variety of payloads from custom supplied CTD, SV, Chlorophyll, Turbidity, Dissolved Oxygen packages right through to clients own R&D sensors. The MiniBAT is able to take payloads of up to 20Kg, work at speeds of up to 10kts and depths of 60m.
Through the unique MiniBAT control software the tow body can be set to undulate over a desired depth range, maintain a constant depth, and can even be programmed to follow the seabed with MiniBAT automatically altering its depth. These features make MiniBAT adaptable to a wide range of applications and situations, including estuaries, rivers, lakes, and coastal areas.
MiniBAT's lightweight construction means that it is easily deployed by one person from almost any kind of vessel, making it a quick and cost effective way of collecting data quickly and efficiently saving both time and money.
